Biography
After a bachelor's degree in chemistry at Université Laval, he stayed on for his master's in Frédéric-Georges Fontaine's group and worked on developing the combined chemistry of bora- and boratabenzenes and phospholes. He then pursued a PhD at the University of Southern California under the supervision of Karl Christe, working on the synthesis of highly energetic materials based on boron compounds and small molecules. In 2015, he was a postdoctoral fellow in François Gabbaï's group at Texas A&M, where he worked on elucidating fluoride-mediated reduction mechanisms of naphthalenediimides and developing the coordination chemistry of perfluorinated arylantimine compounds. In 2016, he joined Holger Braunschweig's group at Universität Würzburg as Alexander von Humbldt Research Fellow, where he worked on developing the chemistry of boron compounds with polyazo groups. Since December 2019, he has joined the chemistry department at Université Laval as an assistant professor.
